Spin Expo Shanghai 2011

On the 2nd September I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to exhibit my work in the 'Next Generation' part of Spin Expo Shanghai. Myself and nine other Texprint guys were chosen by Sophie Stellar for the Spin Expo Travel Prize awarded at Texprint London July 2011.

It was a wonderful experience, we had both opportunity to explore Shanghai as a city and embrace the inner workings of a large trend show. I am happy to say the Texprint 10 attracted interest from both Chinese and European press, as well as manufacturing and supplier connections were made. In many ways I am astounded by the reception we got and think we made very encouraging connections with China that will hopefully stand Texprint in good stead for years to come. So a big thank you to the Texprint team, Spin Expo organisers and Sophie Stellar for sending us half way around the world.

it was also very interesting to see al of the upcoming trends for the 2012 autumn winter season, we had a access to countless swatches and seminars that showed in detail what is coming up for the next cold season.

Next week I will be at Premier Vision/ Indigo in Paris, if in the area please come and visit me and the other Texprint guys, I will have my complete collection with me and am very excited to see how it will be received.

Texprint 2011

I have been a very lucky girl and was selected as one of the "star" 24 Textile Designers for Texprint 2011. The Texprint experience meant I had the chance to exhibit at Chealsea School of Art in the Triangle Building. Over two days we were introduced to multiple industry professionals and press. I throughly enjoyed the exhibitions and am sure I have made alot of exciting contacts.

Sophie Stellar head of Spinexpo also selected me as one of the lucky few who will be sponsored to exhibit work in Shanghai. My work will be part of the 'Pulse' exhibition which show cases new talent in September 2011.

As it goes September will be a busy month, after returning from Shanghai the Texprint 24 all head to Premier Vision/Indigo in Paris. This is a oppurtunity to introduce ourselves and our work to the industry as well as being chance to sell designs.

I want to thank Texprint for the this wonderful oppurtunity and am very excited to be apart of the organisation which I am sure will act as a great platform from which I can launch myself into industry.

For more information about Texprint and the other 24 designers please visit there website www.texprint.org
